The Buffseeds are an imaginative new indie guitar band who released their debut album The Picture Show earlier this week.

This album of beautifully crafted songs, meaningful lyrics and melodic tunes has a lifetime of experience crammed into it. Subjects covered include everything from local riots, day dreaming college romances, neglected relationships, to political corruption and family illness. One review declared that their music should be 'compulsive listening in every school in Northern Ireland. And India. And the Middle East.'

The Devon-based band are Kieran Scragg (lead singer/guitar), Joel Scragg (bass), Neil Reed (keyboards) and Ella Lewis (drums).

They received much positive initial support from Radio One, appearing on Jo Whiley and Steve Lamacq's shows and recording an Evening Session. They were also playlisted on indie station XFM.

Kieran has been described as having a striking vocal style and the band are one of the hot tips of 2003. See if the hype is deserved when they play live at the Joiners this weekend.
