Sue Bignell, tenant chairman of Winchester Housing Association, has been appointed an inspector by the Housing Corporation.

It means that she will be travelling around the country as part of a team, visiting other housing associations to carry out the corporation's inspection process.

All Registered Social Landlords are regulated by the Housing Corporation to ensure that they are not only providing good quality homes and services for their tenants, but that standards are improving all the time.

"I am very flattered to have been asked but I think it not only reflects on my experience gained since 1992, but on the good work achieved by the Winchester Housing Association, which has recently come through its own inspection with flying colours," said Sue.

Over the last 10 years, Sue has represented Winchester Housing Association's tenants, both as an elected representative and as a nominee to the board of Winchester Housing Group.

She is a library assistant working in Winchester, as well as a house parent with a Winchester college and a school governor.
