Peter Pan - Sarisbury theatre and Youth Theatre Companies, Community Centre, Sarisbury Green
IN ACCORDANCE with JM Barrie's legacy, Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital still benefits from every production of Peter Pan.
Not a panto, but the John Caird/Trevor Nunn version of Barrie's story about the boy who never grew up.
Sarisbury Theatre Company and its youth group came together for this cleverly staged production, with its delightfully sparkly backdrop, efficiently executed scene changes and superb costumes.
James Farmer (John) delivered one of the best ad-libs of all time when part of the set came down, but everyone recovered well.
It seems unfair to single out individuals in what was a triumph for village theatre but Steve Roberts's storytelling was remarkable, and Anna Biney (Wendy) excelled, her a capella singing a joy. Special mention must be made of the agility of Lucy Swanbrow (Nana) and Tess Hallam (The Crocodile) - amazing.
