AFC Totton shot out of the blocks at Testwood Park last night to chalk up their third straight home win under new manager John Robson.

Lymington & New Milton, who are themselves under the new leadership of ex-Pompey professional Stuart Doling, didn't know what had hit them as they were blown away by three goals in the opening nine minutes en route to a 5-2 Jewson Wessex League defeat.

With only seconds on the clock, the leaky Linnets defence succumbed to a Michael Jackson header and, before they had absorbed the shock, Patrick James made it two in as many minutes.

Martin Whiddett added a ninth-minute third and, with Scott Bundy and James scoring either side of half-time, Totton were 5-0 up by the hour mark.

Lymington's top gun Leigh Phillips - a target of Salisbury and Newport IoW - pulled one back with a quarter of an hour remaining and Kevin Gill scored with a deflected free-kick a minute from time.

All last night's other scheduled Wessex matches were rained off, including Christchurch's clash with Bournemouth Poppies which was postponed over eight hours before kick-off.

Poppies manager Keith Williams was unimpressed, saying: "As a club, I don't think Christchurch did enough to get the game on and I'm fuming about it.

"You can't possibly call off a local derby that early and expect people to be happy. It's happened too many times for me this season.

"If teams want to compete at this level, they've got to do more to get their pitches ready because it's causing problems for other teams.

"We're talking the Wessex League here, not Mickey Mouse parks football."

Ian Mancey atoned for his FA Vase disgrace by scoring the winner for Winchester City against Hordean in the Hampshire Premier Division.

The former Fleet and Basingstoke striker, who was sent off in Saturday's 1-0 quarter-final defeat at Oadby Town, banked his 28th goal of the season after good work between Danny Smith and Andy Forbes to seal a 2-1 victory.

City had taken the lead after only 33 seconds when Smith's free-kick slipped under the keeper, but Richie Warwick levelled for Horndean seven minutes after the break.
