A £1,000 payout will be made on the local circuit for the first time this year after the Nigel Turner/Thomsons Financial Planning Sunday Series is extended to 11 rounds with an entry of 60 anglers.

Last year's final winner, Ray Hayward, picked up £500 for his 93lb 4oz winning haul on Lord Romsey's prolific Longbridge Lake and the final will there again with over £3,700 paid out on the day to the 22 finalists.

Cormorants AC Graham Collins has worked tirelessly to come up with a range of venues for this year's competition and to sort out which anglers are fishing which rounds.

Collins is also in charge of sorting out the points tables and printing the results from each match and has masterminded this year's event to increase the prize money.

The series will be over 11 matches with all the anglers fishing seven of the 11 heats.

Five heats will provide two qualifiers for the final, with the remaining six seeing a single qualifier.

The top six anglers from the points championship table who have qualified from the heats will also go through to the final.

Series entry is £20 - and £20 per match - and anglers must pay their entry to Reelcare by February 28, with all anglers who fished last year's series invited to fish again.

There is already a waiting list, however, so anglers intending to fish must book.

Heats: March 23 Hordle, April 6 Longbridge, April 27 Witherington Farm, May 18 Greenridge Farm, June 1 Longbridge, June 15 Greenridge Farm, June 29 Dryad, August 17 Greenridge Farm, September 7 Witherington Farm. Final: September 21, Longbridge.
