IAN Mancey's remarkable scoring streak continued as wonder club Winchester City claimed their fourth Wessex scalp of the season at Wimborne Town in the Russell Cotes Cup.

After Magpies' Stuart Cannie had cancelled City's 18th-minute opener from Danny Smith, master marksman Mancey settled the tie 2-1 with a 74th-minute diving header from Lloyd Webber's cross.

Amazingly it was the 11th consecutive game in which Mancey had scored for the Hampshire Premier leaders, who have already disposed of Lymington & New Milton, Gosport Borough and Brockenhurst in cup competition this season.

The other RCC quarter-final was also a tight affair with Fleet Town squeezing past BAT Sports 1-0 at Calthorpe Park.

The winner took 85 minutes arriving courtesy of a vintage left-foot volley from Fleet stalwart Mark Frampton following good work by Shea Saunders and Paul Wetherall.

Fleet joint manager Adi Aymes, the former Hampshire cricketer, went on as a substitute for the last 25 minutes.

"He put himself about a bit and showed the young boys a bit of passion and desire," said admiring co-boss Mark Dennis.
