The children's hospice, Naomi House, is to be given £5,000 by Hampshire County Council to help with running costs.
The decision to aid the hospice's budget for the next financial year was made by council leader, Ken Thornber.
The hospice, at Sutton Scotney, has an annual budget of £1.5m.
It provides respite care and pain relief for terminally-sick children, and offers bereavement and support services to their families.
Hugh Thompson of Naomi House said: "We're delighted that Hampshire County Council has seen fit to aid us with providing our care.
"We rely on thousands of supporters and on council grants and each donation is vital."
