GIANT teddies, red roses, cocktails, wine, fine food, good company, excellent entertainment and the chance to raise money for two Hampshire charities - what more could a girl or boy want on Valentine's Day?

The Saints are joining up with the club's official jewellers, Parkhouse and Wyatt, to stage a dream Valentine's ball on February 14.

As well as bidding for a great auction prize, you could also be taking home a giant 3ft teddy bear if you buy a ticket for the White Tie and Diamonds event at the St Mary's Stadium.

The Saints have bought 30 teddies to put on each table at the ball, which is being held in aid of the Southampton-based Children Say charity and the Hampshire Deaf Association. Event organiser Shirley Pinn said: "We hope to get 300 people at the ball. It's going to be a fantastic fundraising evening."

Entertainment will be provided by three singers, two of whom will perform hits from West End shows. There will also be a comedian and an auction for some top prizes.
