BASINGSTOKE & Mid Hants' Amanda Proctor bounced back from her county Championship defeat to make it four wins out of four in the penultimate round of the Leisure Pursuits Hampshire Cross-Country League at Overton.

The 31-year-old, knocked into second place by veteran international Lucy Elliott in the county event, revelled on the hilly, grassy course to finish 45 seconds clear of Southampton Running Club's Stephanie Robson.

With junior athlete Phil Banks leading the way in top spot, Aldershot Farnham & District dominated the men's event, setting them up nicely for the South of England Championships at Exmouth on Saturday week (January 25).

At the other end of the age scale, Southampton City's talented youngster Scott Gallant scored his second victory of the season in the under-13 boys' event.

The county champion lies second in the overall rankings going into the final meeting at Kings Park, Bournemouth, on February 1.
