THE feelgood factor has helped Saints' two club shops to spiralling sales.

Business has been booming at both the megastore at St Mary's and the WestQuay outlet.

Particularly popular lines are the testimonial video of Saints legend Matt Le Tissier, the PC manager's game and the ever-popular Saints home strip.

A whopping 43,000 customers visited the two stores between October and December last year - and the club is now determined to keep pulling the supporters in with new sales lines.

A video of the memorable two wins over Spurs will soon be released entitled White Hart Pain.

Retail sales manager Lleyton Mitchell said: "Both shops have done very, very well.

"Not only did we have better sales in the run-up to Christmas compared with the previous year, we have also had a record start to the new year sales.

"The Matt Le Tissier video and the PC manager's game were two of the top sellers, but the home kit remains very, very popular - which is especially good as it's the second season for that kit.

"It's great to walk around Southampton and see so many people wearing Saints shirts.

"That hasn't always happened in the past - you've tended to see people wearing Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal kits.

"It's particularly pleasing to see so many youngsters wearing Saints shirts - it's important to get them interested when they're young."

He added: "It's not often that the club have been doing as well as they are.

"It's great that fans can wake up on Monday morning and go to work knowing they have something to shout about."
