Already firmly in control of Hampshire Division Two, Isle of Wight sit proudly six points clear of the rest and they can keep well abreast of the

chasing pack with an eleventh victory of the season at Wootton.

However, they host Fleet who have mounted a resurgence and Richard Beardsall's side cannot afford to take this game lightly and have every intention not to do so.

Former Havant and Bath lock Ben Rouse starts for the Islanders with Paul Simpson out with a broken hand while all-round sportsman Andy White returns from his skiing exploration for their first game of the year - which means they could be rusty, according to Beardsall.

Fawley have a tough fixture against the always combative Lytchett Minster, while Ventnor's visit to Fordingbridge pits second bottom with third bottom, and with two likely to go down, the measure of a victory cannot be underestimated.

In Hampshire Division Three, Stoneham Park receive league leaders Kingsclere on the back of a very good run of form before the festive break, although they were well beaten by Sandown & Shanklin last weekend 35-0 in a friendly.

Stoneham's cause in attempting to knock down another of the leading pack is not helped by the absence of four key players, including experienced half-backs Andy Stride (torn shoulder ligaments) and Steve Lines (back spasms) and skipper Tiernan Simmons (infection of the leg).

Add to this, the very unfortunate Pete Watson who could miss the rest of the season with a broken fibula and tibia after finding himself at the bottom of a collapsed maul in the Sandown match, but that will not deter the Eastleigh-based outfit though as they look to continue their recent upturn.
