It is a very important weekend for Tottonians in their bid to reign supreme in London Division Four South-West.

Nearest title rivals, Farnham, come south for a game which could see the home side place one hand on the championship should they win.

But they will be highly cautious and are certainly not classing this fixture as the clincher, although long serving stand-in captain Ali Ramus knows the level of the game.

Although their game with Trojans was postponed for the second consecutive weekend, they managed to pick up a fixture with Bournemouth, which has kept the team in the groove and firmly in the right mind set for this clash.

Totts announce a full bill of health - bar skipper Miles Northover - but Brian Goodall steps back into the hooker position for Sean Eustace. That is the only change to the proposed starting line-up at Stoneham Lane six days ago.

"This is a massive game for us, but if we win, it is certainly not a title-in-the-bag situation," urges Ramus. "We have some very testing games ahead of us and this is just another one of those."

Should the unbeaten league leaders maintain that record tomorrow, they would stand six points astride of their opponents with seven games remaining, but that matters little to the county lock. "That can soon disappear as we found last season.

"There is a real buzz around the club this week and the lads will be ready for the challenge, as they have been all season. It was important that we put out a full strength side for this game, and we have."

Their lead may be six points over Farnham, but it could also be six over third-placed London Irish Amateur if Southampton can re-enact their sensational victory over them once again, but it will be much harder, especially with the Saints' rotten away form.

Tony Cador's side could do with nothing more than a win at the one-time Premiership stadium and they travel confident, but they can be certain the Irish will be gunning for a repost to that 17-10 reverse at Test Park in November.

Unfortunately, they go without veteran Alex Scott, so Dave Ward is restored to the wing. The brothers Woolf are in tandem again in the backs.

"No doubt this will be equally as hard a game as the previous encounter," feels Dave Griffiths, the club's fly-half, "but if we have beaten them once, it is always possible again. We have nothing to lose and are looking forward to the day out at a top class ground."

Southampton will not be short on support, as the second XV and the club veterans have also fixed up games against the same opposition - more likely than not to sample the famed Irish hospitality!

A win for Trojans is of paramount importance also, as they go to basement-dwellers Cranleigh, who have won just one of their 11 starts this season and trail both their opponents and Saints by two points.

It is, without doubt, the most crucial weekend of the season for all three of the regions' sides in this division.
