THE hunt's on for the rightful owner of more than £13,000 which was discovered buried in the garden of a house in Wildhern, near Andover.

The money, packed into jam jars, was unearthed by gardener James McCullum as he worked at the property while the owners were away.

"Mr McCullum spoke to neighbours who got in contact with the owners. They said the money didn't belong to them," said Sgt Sheila Edwards, from Andover police station. "They advised him to come to the police."

Police believe it could have gone undiscovered for at least ten years.

"If no one comes forward to claim the money it will go back to the property's owners," added Sgt Edwards.
