MIKI Sinanan became the first player of the season to beat Mark Butler in the Southampton table tennis league.
His win helped Generation II to a 5-all draw against Waterside, which also preserved their unbeaten status at the top of the table.
Sinanan lost, however, to Butler's Waterside team-mates Christos Hannides and Lee Dredge as county champion Graham Toole also picked up two wins.
Snows A had an easy 9-1 win over Snows B, with George Cole forced to retire injured - although not before recording an excellent win against Chris Wilshere.
Mauri Shave showed all his old class to remain unbeaten.
Alex Rorke, Rod McMullan and Stuart Williams of Alpha A thrashed bottom team Insurance A 10-0 Snows C and D played each other, with the C team winning 7-3.
Waterside B move to the top of Division 1 after beating Ordnance Survey A 9-1 with Rick Morris and Ian Davis both unbeaten.
Maximums from Anne Longland and Dick Hayes, returning from a wrist injury, gave Snows E a 8-2 victory over strugglers Alpha D.
Without unbeaten former county junior champion Chris Butt, Hedge End A lost 8-2 to St Denys A with defensive maestro Dave Dobson and Julian Rickman both undefeated for St Denys.
Snows F suffered their first defeat of the season when losing 6-4 to St Denys B, who were victorious for the first time this season.
In Division 2, Waterside D hold on to top slot after crushing Four Ts B 8-2.
Waterside E got revenge for their first half defeat from Waterside F thanks to a maximum from Dan Ashton. For the losers John Slade and Rowland Spencer-Smith won the doubles.
Hedge End B and Hedge End C fought out a nail-biting five-all draw.
A late scorecard also saw Hedge End C defeat BAT B 6-4.
The four Waterside teams were all in action against each other last week in Division 3.
Colin French, making one of his rare appearances, won three for the G team which together with two each from Scott Ashmore and Luke Riche enabled the team to beat the J team 7-
3.
At the other end of the hall the H team drew with the K team.
Dan Long played well and combined with father Gordon to win the doubles for the K side while two each from Rob Hansen and Mike Paterson plus one from Pasky Paskeran gave the H team their five games.
Bottom-of-the-table Hospitals, still having problems with fielding a full team, with only two players, lost to third-placed Ordnance Survey B.
Alan Man and Chris Debyshire both defeated John Money.
Despite a good maximum from Paul May, Alpha E were unable to overcome the handicap of only being able to field two players and went down 4-6 to BAT C.
Southampton West A continued their unbeaten run with a 7-3 win over their C team.
The young Southampton West D team, although struggling a bit, are nevertheless gaining useful experience, though they were whitewashed by Pirelli B.
Ro Bennett turned out for the Southampton West B side and a maximum from both him and young Alistair Jones helped their side cane lowly Four T's D.
The Insurance B team of Roger Bradley, Adrian Aldis and Terry May, only three points behind the leaders, gained maximum points by defeating a two man Four Ts E team 10-0.
