CHILDREN at a Hampshire school have given a generous Christmas gift to charity.
Pupils at St Anthony Primary School in Fareham have been busy holding table-top sales, raffles and competitions to raise money for Wessex Heartbeat. A cheque for £1,225 was presented yesterday to Sara-Jane Tyrrell from the charity.
The school in Primate Road decided to donate to the charity after hearing how it had helped two of its pupils who suffered from heart conditions.
Head teacher Mike Cooper, said: "We always look for a charity to support at this time of year and we try to relate it to children.
"Each class has been busy organising various activities. It's a massive amount to raise for a school of just over 200 children."
Mrs Tyrrell, said: "We are delighted to receive the cheque. Our sincere thanks goes to the children."
