MILLIONAIRE former radio DJ Chris Evans and his wife Billie Piper became Christmas tree sellers in memory of a pub landlord who drowned in the Solent off Southampton.
The couple joined staff and friends at the White Horse pub in Hascombe, Surrey, where James Ward was landlord, to raise funds for various organisations.
Mr Ward, 50, died in August this year when he was swept over board from his yacht, on which Chris was a crew member. The boat had been returning at night to Hamble during Cowes Week.
Some of the proceeds raised in the sale are expected to go towards the Hamble police boat section.
