British Maritime Technology Limited is to merge its Southampton subsidiary, BMT Marine Information Systems with two other of its businesses based in Scotland and Poland.

With offices in the city's Ocean Village, the Southampton arm of the company has an international reputation for the development of systems for counter-pollution, search and rescue, offshore discharges and decommissioning, together with port and maritime operations.

The amalgamation is expected to be completed by next January when the new set-up will be known as BMT Cordah Limited, the name of one of the founding subsidiaries.
