TalkSexShow at Lighthouse, Poole's Centre for the Arts

The complexity of human sexuality is an eternal source of comedy.

It has also spawned an industry of counsellors, advisers, agony aunts and gurus.

Paul Davies, writer of this show for Volcano Theatre Company, parodies an obsessive, dictatorial sex teacher.

It works as a comedy for the first ten minutes or so, but then appears to have nowhere to go.

The old technique of choosing audience members to add a frisson of tension smacked of desperation.

The laughs were fewer and fewer and even a couple of wonderful body suits could not excuse what finally became an exercise in self-indulgence.
