DANNY McEWAN carried off four trophies in the Banister Park club championships after reaching five finals.

He took the singles against Geoff Norgate and also won the triples, fours and mixed pairs but the Liberty Trophy bowler's hopes of a five-timer were ruined by John Joslin in the veterans' singles.

Wendy Berry did manage a five-timer - her 21-18 victory over Val Dibben was the fifth time she had landed the ladies' singles. Level at 11-11 Berry eased 20-12 clear but had to wait before she gained the crucial shot following a gallant comeback by her opponent.

Banister Park, who have over 900 indoor members, are undergoing changes to their management structure and are determined to adopt a more modern approach. A four-strong team of secretary Ken Foulkes, Bob Kirton, Margaret Darkin and Bob Grange were given the task of making recommendations for the future and their findings have been accepted by the club management and members.

Many of the changes are expected to be in place at the start of the next indoor campaign.
