Record numbers of entries have been received for this year's Andover Carnival, demonstrating the community is as excited as Carnival chairman Mark Bladen about the return of this annual event.

Some 20 entries for floats have so far been received by the organisers of the 2002 Andover Carnival, ten times more than at this stage last year.

However, Andover Round Table and the Carnival committees are keen to encourage more to join in. "We're aiming to have more than 50 floats this year," said Mark, "and hope we see the longest procession in recent years, with as much entertainment as possible."

Anyone wishing to enter a float is encouraged to get their entry form in as soon as possible.

The forms are available in certain editions of the Andover Advertiser, (see below) its sister paper the Avon Advertiser and on the website If you would like to get involved in the Carnival, it's not too late! The committees are meeting on a regular basis and additional members are welcomed. You can contact the organisers and offer your support by sending an e-mail.
