The Jewson Wessex League title race looks like going right to the wire.

It's all change at the top again after Andover crushed Christchurch 7-2 at The Portway Stadium last night to move a point ahead of Fleet with just three games each to go.

For Lions boss Ken Cunningham-Brown, it was the perfect way to the soothe the pain of Tuesday's 5-3 defeat by Fleet.

"The best answer was to come straight back and win and keep the pressure on Fleet," he smiled. "We played a lot of good football."

Christchurch gave as good as they got in the early stages, sneaking ahead through Phil Langdown after four minutes and then equalising through Luke Gogan after Lloyd Webber and Dave Asker had retaliated for the reigning champions.

Asker went on to net four goals - and arguably a fifth which deflected in off teammate Paul Odey. Webber got the other.

There could be another goal feast on the cards tomorrow when Andover, the league's leading scorers, entertain second-to-bottom Swanage & Herston, who have leaked a staggering 159 goals.

Fleet face a trickier looking assignment at Portland while former leaders AFC Totton, who are four points adrift of Andover in third, face Moneyfields at Testwood Park.

Andover's master marksman Andy Forbes should be fit to play at least a half tomorrow despite a leg strain, but the Lions are likely to rest groin victim Glen Damen again.
