Lymington & NM 1, Andover 3

UNSTOPPABLE Andover beat Lymington & New Milton for the fifth time this season with last Thursday's victory in the JWL at the Fawcett's Field .

In an evenly contested first half both sides had scoring chances and the usually prolific Andy Forbes missed a couple of sitters by his standards while at the other end Kieron Drake in the Andover goal twice went full stretch to palm away firm drives.

The Linnets took the lead early in the second half when Drake miskicked Paul Freeman's back pass to give home striker Garth Keeping the easiest of chances.

However, the Lions responded in the best possible manner and within seven minutes Forbes equalised from a corner by Vince Rusher, who was making a welcome return to the Andover attack after away working in Guernsey.

The ageing Lymington back line started to make mistakes and two further goals in two minutes sealed the points for the Lions.

First Shaun Dyke took on three opponents before drilling the ball past the home 'keeper with a low shot for his fourth goal in three games, and then Lloyd Webber set up Forbes to score the third.
