TRANSPLUS sponsored Andover New Street eased their Hants Premier relegation fears with a much needed home win at Foxcotte Park last Saturday.

Street's youngest player Bobby Swayne got the all-important goal from an 82nd minute penalty for a foul on Matt Hooper. "It was a clear cut penalty, no-one else wanted to take it but young Bobby put it away like a veteran," said Street boss Gary Prince.

The game was spoilt by a strong wind, the first time that Prince can recall it blowing directly up the pitch, up the but Street again did well at the back with Dean Austin maintaining his good form of late.

Petersfield never looked like scoring and the victory takers the pressure off Street but was a game that they needed to win.

Prince admitted that he had been saying that for the last couple of games and that his young side had been trying took hard.

He had the players in early for a chat. "We told them to go out an enjoy their football," he said.

Street had a lot of possession but was always going to be a question of whether we got the goal or not and they had a couple of other chances with Matt Styles and Fraser Bain both going close.

l Street lost 2-0 away to Hordnean in the Hants Premier for the second time this season on Tuesday night. The first game had to be replayed after Horndean included an ineligible player but Street were unable to make amends with the re-arranged game finishing with a repeat scoreline.

Street had veteran striker Shaun Rogers making an unexpected return but Horndean stole the points in a dour game with them scoring from the only two shots they had during the entire game.
