ANOTHER week dogged by further cancellations in the beleaguered NHL, with champions Southampton Arms calling off their home game with RS Basingstoke Res after they could muster six players and Tadley Res were also hit by a mysterious attack of 'flu and cancelled their fixture with Ludgershall Sports.

There seems to bee a general air of apathy and lethargy which the 'administration' could well to correct with all possible haste before the NHL fades into non-existence. With a number of the Southampton Arms players rumoured to be joining Andover NS next season, Ludgershall Sports having already applied to join the county league and Broughton Res dropping back down into the Andover League, the NHL already has a problem finding enough teams to run a worthwhile competition next season.

Picket Piece from the Andover League want to play in the NHL next season but it would appear that none of the teams from the Basingstoke League or Winchester League are interested so it could possibly mean the end of the NHL.

The only game played last weekend saw Stockbridge Res and Winchester City 'A' drawing 2-2 in the Supplementary League with Paul Sanders netting both the Stockbridge goals.
