IT'S the dramatic facelift that will change the heart of Eastleigh for ever.
Offices and processing units that have dominated the vista for up to seven decades are biting the dust in a huge demolition exercise at the giant former Pirelli General factory.
They will be replaced by these sparkling new homes if civic chiefs give their blessing to the first phase of plans to redevelop part of the giant industrial site. Developer Barratt Homes has lodged new detailed plans for the first 209 homes in a scheme set to revolutionise the face of Eastleigh.
Eastleigh Borough Council has already resolved to grant outline planning permission for 665 homes plus offices on one of the biggest brownfield redevelopment sites in the south.
