THICK fog and a flat calm caused abandonment of the f irst week's racing, but thankfully the race management team was able to get right back on schedule running two races on Sunday January 13th

The conditions were certainly tricky, with a southerly breeze between 3 and 11 knots and poor visibility - which made identifying marks for those without the benefit of GPS difficult, too

The multihulls, first away, enjoyed a fine tussle in the snakes-and-ladders battle in brief patches of wind

Mike Browne was clearly at ease in his Farrier F24 Legless, gaining a first and second place

Mike represented Great Britain in the last Paralympics, sailing in the 2

4 metre class and gaining an impressive 7th place in his first international competition

The monohull classes ranged from a Beneteau 47

7 to a Reflex 25, and in class 2 down to a Micro 18

Class 1 saw wins for Rear Commodore (House) Stuart Danby in Respect and Paul King in the Prima Serendip

Rear Commodore (Sailing) Peter Bateson was on committee boat duty, but delighted to see daughter Stephanie take line and handicap honours in both races in Class 2 at the helm of Sonar Sydney Zoo

The Frostbite Series continues on January 27th
