Hampshire's top professional golfing trio Kevin Saunders, James Ablett and Rob Edwards are set to renew battle across the Irish Sea in the Hampshire PGA's second Ring of Kerry Pro-Am Tournament.

The players, who have staged a virtual three-cornered battle for this year's Hampshire PGA order of merit crown are among the 17 Pro-Am teams from golf clubs around county who are taking part in Hampshire PGA's second Ring of Kerry Pro-Am Tournament.

Hampshire PGA Secretary David Wheeler said: "Thanks to the support of the sponsoring companies we have been able to expand this year's Ring of Kerry Pro-Am to include rounds at Cork and Lee Valley.

The Hampshire PGA party jets out of Stansted on Friday for the first of three venues, the Cork Club where they play an 18-hole pro-am.

The 'Tour' then moves to Kenmare for the weekend and a 36-hole Pro-Am at the Ring of Kerry Golf and Country Club before returning to Cork on the Monday for another 18 hole Pro-Am, this time at Lee Valley Golf and Country Club.

This year's Ring of Kerry Pro-Am is being sponsored by McNicholas Construction, Andover-based Masterspec Limited, Ryanair and Titleist Footjoy in association with the Kenmare Bay Hotel and the Ring of Kerry Golf and Country Club.

"Many of the amateurs and professionals who went on last year's first Ring of Kerry Pro-Am have booked-up again this year," said Wheeler. "Everyone is looking forward to another enjoyable weekend in the Emerald Isle."

One man who won't be there is Greg Hughes, the Petersfield professional who won at Kerry last year.

Hughes has had a busy summer captaining the Southern PGA and Wheeler explained: "His work schedule doesn't allow him to play in Ireland."
