Hampshire hot-shot Andy Jenkins made sure the Aussies didn't get it all their way last weekend!

As the Wallabies were steamrollering the Lions down under and England's cricketers were getting a lesson at home, Jenkins travelled all the way round the world for a crack at the Tokyo Open.

There he reached the final and met Aussie Tony David.

And David will hope not to meet Jenkins again after the Cosham builder stung the darter from down under with a 5-0 win.

At 3-0 Jenkins was averaging over 40 per dart. He had winning legs of 12, 14, 11, 14 and 18-darts and returned with the trophy, prize money, WDF points and a big grin at beating an Aussie.

European Youth Cup - Bremen, Germany:

Eastleigh's Laura Power has returned from Bremen with a team gold medal to add to her bronze and silver won in the previous two Euro youth cups.

Power and England colleague Clare Stewart also clinched the girls pairs title.

But it was Stewart who put out Power in the semi-finals of the singles competition 3-2.

After third and second places in the last two European Cups the girls finally clinched the title.

For the boys though it was a second successive triumph and for Jason Crawley a second gold medal overall and a second consecutive pairs title. Crawley's partner in the pairs was Stephen King and the duo claimed a 3-1 victory over a Dutch pair.

And Power still has plenty more to look forward to. Vic Sexton, the British Darts Organisation director for youth teams has announced that Power and Merseyside's Stephen King will travel to Malaysia in September for the World Cup.

Itchen & District Men:

Kenny Shaw collected the singles title for Netley Central in a thrill-a-minute final against Ian Goodyer of Roll Call A. Shaw had beaten Ken Malcolm (Roll Call B) in the semi-final after Malcolm had hit a 118 finish. Colin Douglas (Roll Call A) was the other beaten semi-finalist.

Freemantle & District

Dan Knowlton (Englishman) hit the best finish from the latest round of fixtures with 106. N Stares notched the only 180 for Anchor & Hope.

Southampton Friendly League:

The league's top finish of the season, a smashing 167 from N Dunning, remains the best but only just. Andy Barnes (Hythe) came close with a magnificent 158.

Waterside Charity League:

There were maximums in the league from Peter Unsworth and Jimmy Mac of Exbury and Esso. Dave Upward hit the top finish of 109 for Travellers Rest.

Top shots for the ladies were Maureen Bennett and Jane Slater. Bennett had a finish of 106 for Forest Home B and Slater checked out with 99 for Travellers Rest.

Bishop's Waltham Ladies:

League leaders Priory crashed to a second defeat of the season. But with just two games to go, it may be too late for victors Sam's to close the gap.

Priory took a 2-0 lead with wins in the opening pairs games from the pairings of Fiona Ford/Sheila Eggerton and Linda Martin/Linda Cunningham.

Val Callaghan and Peggy Selmes halted the run and in the opening singles landlady Ann Wilds levelled the match. Toni Selby and Peggy Selmes then clinched the points before Linda Martin won a third for Priory.

If it's July then it must be time to think about winter leagues. Yet another general meeting has been announced and for this league any new teams should contact Linda Martin on 07979 357556.

Bishop's Waltham Men:

Five players hit maximums but only Vic Hampton with 116 could hit a century finish. Maximum men were Steve Perren (Dolphin), Andy Spreadbury (New Inn), Dave Gibbs (Bold Forester), R Roberts (Chamberlayne) and Pete Harvey (Wheatsheaf).

South Hants Invitation:

Park Gate BL may have lost three games this season, their worst performance for some time, but they are well on their way to retaining their title after opening a 13-point lead. Red Lion were beaten 7-2 and next week the new second-placed team, Searles B, is on the Park Gate menu.
