ROSEMARY BAILEY is double-booked for next month's Steradent English Women's BA national championships after reaching the final of the Hampshire four-wood singles at Banister Park.

Having qualified in the triples 48 hours earlier, the Fareham bowler sealed her singles place with a 21-8 win over Banister Park's Margaret Darkin, who took only four of the 14 ends.

The other semi-final went to Pam Lambshead, who is also through to Leamington in the fours.

The Cowplain member came from 14-12 down to beat Atherley's Jackie Mainwaring 21-16.

Atherley's Jean Arnaud had better luck - she gained her ticket to the nationals in the two-wood singles by crushing Hampshire president Allyson Flint (Cove) 18-4 to reach the county final.

Joining her at Leamington will be Julie Saunders, of Bournemouth club Richmond Park, who outgunned Fareham's Wendy Berry 16-9.

Saunders went on to beat Arnaud 17-6 in the county final.

The two-woods start at Leamington on August 9 with the four-woods following on August 16.
