LITTLETON nipped to the top of the Southampton and District Women's BA B League after a slender 46-44 victory over Aerostructures.
With previous leaders Winchester City having their match against Hedge End postponed, Littleton took full advantage gaining a 3-1 success that sent them to the summit by just 0.5 of a point.
The 27-20 victory of Pat Sloper, Pam Guy, Gwen Bicknell and skip Ann Bates gave Littleton a lift and the overall verdict - despite the 24-19 defeat suffered by Dot Phillips, Celia Wyse, Anne Poulter and skip Ruth Allen against Nora French.
Mayfield Park - pipped for the C League honours by Hedge End last summer - are going great guns in their attempt to wrest the title this season.
They head the table following a 3-1 (51-33) victory over County. Wendy Cramer, Barbara Andrews, Jos Havinga and skip Jean Ford (36-17) sparkled for Mayfield whose other rink of Vera Ding, Florence Hoskins, Sylvia Hadley and skip Yvonne Bott staged a fine revival but were eventually beaten 16-15.
