THERE aren't many pop festivals where you can see Hear'Say, Steps and Emma Bunton rubbing shoulders with the likes of Ash and Ocean Colour Scene.

But, at Power in the Park on Southampton Common on Sunday, you can - and, what's more, it's all completely free.

The line-up for this year's event - the seventh of its kind, organised by Power FM and sponsored by Southampton's Bargate Centre - is more impressive than ever, with no less than 21 big names from the UK charts taking to the stage for four hours of non-stop entertainment.

This year's headliners are those irrepressible popsters Steps - so get practising those synchronised dance moves now.

Causing just as much excitement are the other names on the bill.

Much of that excitement is, of course, focussed on Hear'Say. If last year's TV Phenomenon of the Year was Big Brother, this year's will undoubtedly be Popstars, the ITV talent-spotting show which produced the all-conquering Fab Five we now know as Hear'Say.

Hear'Say will be the first act on stage at midday and will be followed by a host of other stars, including Damage, Dane Bowers, Dario G, Dina Carroll, Blue and Da Rude.

If previous Power in the Parks are anything to go by, Sunday's concert should be one of the must-see events of the year in Southampton.

Tens of thousands of pop-lovers are expected to flock to Southampton Common for the event.

This time, the view will be better than ever, even if you're right at the back - thanks to two large screens which will be transmitting the show live.

A special souvenir programme produced by the Daily Echo will be on sale at the event, priced £1.50.
