ANY singer who's been on the go for a while seems to be automatically described as "legendary".
In the case of Frank Sinatra, though, it's one of the rare occasions when the word is used with any accuracy.
Apart from being one of the greatest singers of the last century, with a much-imitated but never bettered voice, he was also the complete showman - a virtually extinct species in the 21st century.
To find out just why Sinatra remains so universally adored to this day, check out Louis Hoover's Salute to Sinatra at The Mayflower later this month.
Together with a 15-piece big band and some special guests, Hoover's show promises to capture the glory of Sinatra in such classic songs as The Lady is a Tramp, I Get a Kick Out of You, Witchcraft and I've Got You Under My Skin.
Hoover is a veteran imitator of Old Blue Eyes, having already played him in the hit musical Frank, Sammy and Dean - The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas, at The Mayflower earlier this year.
Louis Hoover's Salute to Sinatra is at The Mayflower, Southampton, on Saturday, February 24, starting at 7.30pm.
