SOUTH Coast based leisure operator Fitness First plans to open a second health club in Southampton.
The chain has ambitions to open a further 75 clubs across the country this year, with Vail Williams seeking sites in this region.
"Fitness First's concept of value for money is very appealing to people looking for affordable fitness,'' said Peter Spelman from Vail Williams. "The company does not provide swimming or tennis facilities like upmarket rivals but despite this, the clubs are becoming increasingly popular.''
The firm wants around 30 clubs in the South East and was flexible in viewing freehold and leasehold sites, he said, adding: "Southampton can support a second club on the east side of the river to the existing club in Shirley.''
