BISON coach Charlie Colon could not hide his disappointment after he saw his side beaten 5-0 in the top-of-the-table clash Guildford Flames on Saturday.

The victory leaves Guildford on top of the league, one point clear of the Bison who have two games in hand over them.

The teams meet for the final time in the last match of the season in Guildford, which could well end up as the title decider.

Colon said: "We just have to forget tonight and regroup and maybe this is just the wake-up call the team needed."

Last night the Bison had another tough road trip in Peterborough and any points in their small rink will be looked upon as a bonus.

Talking about the Guildford game, Colon said: "We were basically outworked in our own zone for the first 40 minutes and we made too many silly mistakes in the first 20.

"The bounces didn't go our way and we needed to put away the chances we had early in the game. After that, Mark McArthur just got stronger and stronger.

"I tried every line combination but we just could not buy a goal tonight."

One plus point for the coach was the debut of Rob Douglas.

The 25-year-old Canadian, pictured above with Flames' Ryan Campbell, flew in from Saskatoon on Friday morning and trained with the players Friday afternoon.

Colon said: "He showed he has good hands, took the body and worked hard tonight."
