Romsey did extremely well to limit Gosport & Fareham to a 27-3 winning margin at Romsey Sports Centre.
For Romsey, Gary Banks said: "Romsey played out of their skins and had a great spell in the second-half.
Gosport's last two tries only came late in the game, but they were a little more organised than us overall."
Gosport's secretary, Iain Rackham agreed that Romsey had raised their game and dominated for a spell after half-time, but he pointed out that conditions had been a great leveller.
