ALL the fun of the pantomime season is coming to Ludgershall this week with the production of 'Sleeping Beauty' by the Ludgershall Phoenix Players.

The village thespians are treading the boards at Ludgershall Castle Primary School on three occasions, finishing tomorrow.

Producer Julie Thomas says ticket sales have been going well but there are still likely to be some available on the door for both remaining performances.

Nearly everyone involved in the production is from the village other than Fairy Grotty, the evil witch, who comes from Andover.

"Those who come along should have a good time as there has been camaraderie during rehearsals and people have really enjoyed themselves," said Julie.

Last year the village put many bigger communities to shame with its large number of millennium events such as the memorable community play.

Many of those who braved the weather taking part in the community play 'A Sheltered Grazing Ground' outdoors at The Castle are performing again.

Wood nymphs and fairies are provided by The Suzanne School of Dancers.

In the summer the group is hoping to stage a musical show and review.

The Phoenix Players meet every Tuesday and Thursday, and as a new group they are looking for new members. Call director Mike Giles on 01264 791346 for details.
