City of Southampton swimmers hit the open meet trail last week, and their results made the miles worthwhile. Emma Wicks came away with the 13 years' Top Girl award from the City of Derby designated meet - and a gold and three silver medals from the 13/14 years races.

Her 200m butterfly victory yielded a 2min 31.88sec and a national qualifying time. The 200m freestyle silver medal came in 2:14.52, another personal best and her seventh NQT.

Silver medals in the 100m freestyle (1:03.17) and 100m butterfly (1:10.40pb) completed another impressive foray for a swimmer of whom City must be expecting great things this year.

Clubmate Alexandra Hamilton made four finals in Derby in the girls' 17/over age group. Her best results were a bronze in the 100m backstroke (1:09.61) and fourth in the 50m butterfly.

At the Swindon Tigersharks graded meet, Danielle Mugridge (16/over) collected a silver in the 50m backstroke, a bronze in the 50m breaststroke and a personal best in the 50m freestyle.

David Mugridge swam pb's in all three of the same events, collecting a bronze medal in the freestyle (32.80sec). Natasha Day collected two pb's in the 12 years age-group.
