The Team Phillips project crew, led by Pete Goss, are parting ways after the disappointing end to their campaign which saw their giant catamaran abandoned and lost at sea.

His right hand man Andy Hindley, a colleague of Pete Goss from the 1992 Britsh Steel Challenge, has been snapped by the Volvo Ocean Yacht Race management team based at Whiteley near Southampton.

He has joined as Yacht Equipment and Racing Manager with responsibility for communications and video equipment supplied by the race office to each of the V.O.60 yachts. He will also coordinate the supply of safety equipment which will be used during the race.

Another crewmember Alex Bennett is now seeking sponsors for the 2001 Transat Jacques Vabres while Richard Tudor, who replaced Mike Calvin after the Mail on Sunday journalist resigned during the summer, has returned to North Wales where he is building up to the IC45 World Championship 2001.

Phil Aikenhead has joined the Volvo build team for Grant Dalton's project and will then skipper Don Wood's ex-America's Cup yacht which will be taking part in the 150th Jubilee Anniversary in the Solent this summer.
