STAFF at the Portsmouth Foyer are celebrating being awarded Investors In People recognition.
The Foyer is a registered charity offering accommodation, advice and support to young people aged 16 to 25, helping them to make the transition from dependence to independence. One of the largest in the UK, it provides accommodation for up to 108 young people at its base in Edinburgh Road.
Residents are given a programme of training, including life skills, and job search workshops. The Foyer also has a range of services including the Employment Access Centre and two women's projects, a drop-in service for women of all ages and another for women from the Bengali community.
Portsmouth Foyer operates in partnership with Portsmouth Housing Association, the city council, Hampshire County Council and private business.
