ENGINEERS are designing repairs to the road over the Great Weir at Alresford, which was closed after cracks appeared.
There were fears over the safety of the medieval structure after cracks appeared in the carriageway.
A county council spokesmansaid the structure was safe and the cracking was probably due to underground softening because of the heavy rainfall.
