HASSAN KACHLOUL'S mind is even more firmly made up to leave The Dell after his reception last night.

The Moroccan midfielder, who has turned down Saints new contract offer, was met by a loud chorus of boos when he came on as a 75th-minute subsitute for Claus Lundekvam.

Although a section of the crowd offered support by chanting his name, Kachloul (pictured) was clearly upset.

"It's very sad and very disappointing" he said afterwards.

Kachloul's reported wage demands of £25,000 a week and Saints' offer are miles apart.

But the Moroccan said: "Those people who booed have been influenced by what they have read in the papers.

"I don't know how these figures get printed - they're not right," although he turned down the chance to put the record straight on what he does want.

Kachloul's reception from the fans looks to have scotched any hopes that peace might break between the two sides and get negotiations back on line.

"I won't change my mind now, and this changes nothing," said Kachloul.
