SOUTHAMPTON-based communications consultancy GMX is on the expansion trail with three new appointments and a broadening of its work.

Set up in 1996, the company specialises in public affairs and public relations and director Stephen Pomeroy said the appointment of Jenny Walton as account director, Dr David Webster as account executive and Wendy Fromm as new business development executive, would enable the firm to handle an increasing workload and expand its public relations business.

"In the last couple of years our turnover has doubled and we have clients both in the UK and abroad,'' he said. "The new year marks a new era in the company's continued growth and our new members of staff are an integral part of this.''

GMX clients range from Southampton to Inverness and Australia and the firm, which also has a London office, has just joined the Public Relations Consultants Association.

Jenny Walton joins GMX with more than 20 years experience in the PR industry at regional, national and international levels and is excited about the prospect of the challenge ahead.

"I am thrilled to be joining GMX,'' she said. "Its a young, fast-growing regional company which provides innovative, integrated and targeted communication strategies for their clients."

Dr David Webster has experience of communicating at the highest level. He has worked with clients helping them to communicate with the government and the business community. Previously working for the Ambassador of Moldava he has advised FTSE 100 companies on developments affecting their interests at EU level.

The third new recruit, Wendy Fromm, will be targeting the region's businesses to introduce the services that GMX can offer. A focused communicator, Mr Pomeroy said her abilities and enormous enthusiasm will be a great asset to the sales team.

" The team continues to expand adding to our abilities to provide on-going, successful and integrated communications strategies for our clients,'' he said.
