VIGO Infant School is £1,320 better off thanks to the captain of Andover Golf Club.
Richard Swallow donated the sum to the school, as well as an equal amount to the Andover and District Age Concern, as they were his nominated charities for his captaincy in the year 2000.
The money has been raised through contributions by members of Andover Golf Club and by the efforts of Club Professional Derrick Lawrence, whose longest day marathon raised over £500 for the two causes.
Mr Swallow was chairman of governors at Vigo Infant School for two years and his year of captaincy saw the Junior section soar to over 50 youngsters thanks to the help of some adult members.
Vigo's money has already been used to provide audio equipment in each classroom.
