SOUTH Coast-based Binary Media has landed a prestigious contract to re-vamp Bournemouth Tourism's website.

Heading off competition from other web design and media solutions agencies across the region, the Bournemouth company, which was established in 1995, secured the job as a result of its track record in tourism and local authority work.

Last month, Bournemouth was named resort of the year, and came runner-up in the Tourist Infor-mation Centre of the Year category by the English Tourism Council. The challenge is now on to reflect the town's attractions to web-browsers around the world.

Binary Media's managing director, Iain Beveridge, said: "We're delighted to secure the Bournemouth Tourism contract. It is a wonderful project to add to our portfolio of travel and tourism clients.

"We aim to create a website that promotes not only the miles of incredible beaches that attract millions of holidaymakers every year, but also the unrivalled hotels, restaurants, activities and resources which the town has to offer.

"Most media companies have their base in London, but we chose Bournemouth because we believe it's a great place to live."

Bournemouth's head of tourism, Ken Male, said: "The council is very pleased that a local firm secured the contract, having beaten others in the open tender process.

"Binary has extensive experience in the tourism and local authority sectors, and their enthusiasm for securing the contract shone above the rest in their presentation."
