THE end has come for a Winchester building that has brought entertainment and enjoyment to many of the city's youngsters.
King Alfred Youth Activity Centre sold its Middle Brook Street base for £1 million to Fastnet Homes, which is going to develop the site.
Now the bulldozers and workmen have almost finished the job of knocking it down so that the redevelopment work can begin.
Negotiations are under way to find a new permanent location for the 65-year-old club, but in the meantime the 300 KAYAC members meet at Henry Beaufort School on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.
