DETECTIVES in Winchester are today hoping for a breakthrough in the hunt for a gang of bank robbers.
Last night, a reconstruction of the raid on the city's Bristol and West Bank was shown on the BBC's Crimewatch programme.
Four men escaped in a blue BMW 316i with a substantial sum of cash after the December 11 robbery at the High Street bank.
Det Sgt Janis Adair hopes that the reconstruction, filmed in Winchester earlier this month, will jog people's memories and provide new clues.
After it was shown she said: "We have had a significant number of calls providing links and naming possible suspects.
"Police officers who have investigated similar offences around the country have also phoned in with possible identifications of suspects and we are now following those leads up."
