Palmerston are doubly represented in the Area 32 quarter-finals of the English Indoor BA Pairs Championship.

Neil O'Donovan and Russell Gadd face Arun duo Anthony Ball and Robert Armstrong, while Eric Brierley and Eric Hopgood tackle Tom Campbell and Chris Young of Worthing Field Place.

Brierley is also through to the area semi-finals of the over-60s pairs against D Thomas (Worthing Pavilion) as is clubmate Livi Bell who faces Mike Collins (Victory).

Gadd and D Walton play Rosemary and Charlie Bailey (Victory) in the Golden Charter mixed pairs quarter-final.

Charlie Bailey is one of five Victory players in the last eight of the area singles.

Quarter-final ties: Ian Harvey v Brian Butler (both Arun), Bailey v Barry Starks (both Victory), Darren Griffith v Mark Hammond (both Victory), Mathew Marchant (Victory ) v Rob Rebera (Worthing Field Place).

Palmerston is the venue on Saturday for the regional final of the Warners Holidays Champion of Champions singles. Of the 16 men in action, two will go through to the national stages at Hayling Island on March 24-25.

Helped by a 30-15 home win from the rink of Pat Rye, Cath Etherton, Sandy Moyse and skip Val Cooper, Palmerston crushed Havant 82-67 in the first round of the Riversmeet Trophy.

Palmerston lost their other home rink - Ellie Mundy going down 19-14 to Rose King - but Joyce Bradlaugh netted a 20-14 away victory over Betty Crane at Havant.

The other game there saw a 19-18 win for Havant's Rose Spencer over Ann Broadhurst.
