Easton & Martyr Worthy are marching relentlessly towards yet another Winchester & District Indoor League championship crown.

They won their sixth successive match - and opened up a 23-point gap at the top - by beating Swanmore by 70 runs at River Park.

Dave Birch (41) led the way as Easton smashed 136-2, with Carl Shankland (27) and Shaun Green (25) chipping in.

Swanmore, rushed out for 66, slipped to third spot in Division 1, ten points adrift of Old Alresford, who won their fourth match in six.

Dave Stanbrook hit an unbeaten 26 as Old Alresford cruised to a three-wicket win after bowling Worthy Down out for 69.

Improving Winchester KS swept to a third successive win, beating Tichborne Park by 31 runs.

Nigel Bungay (32), Paul Davies (30) and Stu Marks (27) ferreted around and effectively put WKS out of sight at 146-3.

Despite some wayward bowling - Winchester conceded 48 extras - Tichborne had to be content with 115-5 (Martin Butler 31).

St Cross Symondians were always favourites once former Trojans youngster Matt Angel (3-19) had reduced Tichborne Park II to 88-5 (Norris 26).

Steve Postle (26) and Jon Boniface (25) used their experience to ease St Cross to a five-wicket win.
