A RUNAWAY 29-12 win for Ron Oakes over Neil O'Donovan at Salisbury was the decisive rink as Five Rivers beat Palmerston 82-69 in the Egham Trophy.
Palmerston's Livi Bell was pipped 22-20 by Richard Hindley in the other contest at Five Rivers and not even solid home performances by Val Cooper (19-16 against Pete Riches) and Tony Grant (18-15 against Bill Gourlay) at Fareham could swing the overall verdict Palmerston's way.
In the zone final of this national mixed fours championship, Five Rivers tackle Dorchester, 94-80 winners over East Dorset, on Sunday, February 4.
