THE search was continuing today for the medical equipment at the centre of a radiation scare.
Used to take readings of a patient's major organs, the BLA printer was taken at the weekend from a doctor's car in a West End street.
Police fear for the health of anyone handling the organ-monitoring equipment and say it poses a major risk to pregnant women and their unborn children.
Rarely used in the UK, the £5,000 machine looks like a harmless computer till, but experts says that once tampered with it will contaminate with leaking radiation anyone who touches it.
A police spokesman said today the equipment was still missing and the search was continuing.
Police have warned that anyone who has the machine or who finds it dumped should stay away from it and contact them immediately on 0845 045 4545.
